Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Minister of Education, has announced that results of the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) will be released by December 29, 2024.

The disclosure follows the Minister’s working visit to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) printing facility in the capital, Accra Tuesday, December 24, 2024.

WAEC had disclosed that its scanners which play a vital role in the marking and releasing of results were faulty and could not replace them as a result of some outstanding debts which hindered the Council’s ability.

The Ministry, in response to the challenges released GHC25 million to WAEC to clear some of the challenges it faced.

Dr. Adutwum, following the visit announced that the Council is making progress with the results and expressed hope that it would be released on time.

“This morning, we visited WAEC and we have been taken around and they are working and by December 29 or before, the results of our exams will be out so that the universities can go about their job of making sure our students will also be given admission to pursue their various degree and diploma programmes.

“I was here with the Director-General of Ghana Education Service, and we are satisfied with the level of preparation and the work being done by WAEC, and we are grateful for their service and for the fact that even during this break, they have staff here working around the clock to ensure that the results will be released for our students to continue with their education,” he stated.
