Radio Entertainment Limited, operators of ‘Cash Out’, a lottery programme on Media General’s platforms, has presented a cheque of GHC70,000.00 to two winners of its jackpot played on Friday, December 20, 2024.

The GHC100,000.00 jackpot was won by five people, with the first three persons wining GHC10,000.00 each, the fourth winner GHC20,000.00 and an ultimate prize of GHC50,000.00.

On Onua TV’s morning show, Maakye, Tuesday, December 24, 2024, the two ultimate winners were presented with a cheque by host of the show, Captain Smart, and his co-host, JB.

Jennifer Asiedu, a resident of Dansoman and a businesswoman who operates an eatery at Kantamanto, won the ultimate. After the presentation, she told OnuaOnline she was moved by the story of the winner of the last jackpot who bagged home GHC100,000.00.

According to her, she didn’t bother spending GHC8,000.00 to stake for the jackpot knowing the game was real and won by people who invest more in it.

To her, she was certain many were staking higher amounts to claim the ultimate, the reason she decided to outdo others by playing higher to win.

“I believed it because I see people stake and win. I realised someone truly won 100,000 cedis the last time and because he won with a lot of money, I decided to stake more than what he spent so I could win. I knew a lot of people were staking and because I didn’t know how much people had spent, I decided to spend more,” she disclosed.

Miss Asiedu said she was going to use the proceeds to expand her business, saying she didn’t have any fears of losing since she knew it’s a game.

“I decided to keep it to myself if I hadn’t won because it is a game. I am going to invest the money in my business. I sell food and I want to expand it so that was my plan and I’m going to invest it into the business,” she added.

On her part, Hagar Oforiwaa, a resident of Oyibi and a student, won herself GHC20,000.00 by staking GHC4,000.00.

To her, winning was inevitable since it was her second time of playing the jackpot.

She said she lost on the first one after spending GHC3,000.00, informing her decision to top up her investment by an additional GHC1,000.00.

Although she was writing an examination, Oforiwaa said she knew what was in for her and devoted some of her time to stake, only to realise her number had been picked for a prize.

“I knew that I would win because I have tried it before and didn’t win and this one I told myself I’ll try for the second time. Because the other man won the 100k with 5000 (GHC4,800), I decided to spend 4000 and see and I won 20k. The first time I spent 3000 and I didn’t win. It’s a game and that’s how a game is so it’s either you win or lose. I’ll use it for my fees. I was having exam that day and whilst the exam was going on, I was staking it. So when I had the message, I was really happy,” she explained.
