Andy Kwame Appiah-Kubi, the former Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, has lauded the trajectory of President Mahama’s appointment saying those named so far merit the positions.
His comments come on the back of the first three nominations from the President into the Ministries of Finance, Justice and Attorney General and Energy.
The former lawmaker says the appointments made so far demonstrates the President’s care and diligence in the selection of his ministers by not appointing any mere persons to occupy positions.
Appiah-Kubi says what Mahama has done so far with the coming in of Ato Forson, Dominic Ayine and John Jinapor into his administration is a deed expected of every leader.
“I’m very happy that the President has been very careful in selecting his ministers so far. And I want to commend him for prioritising competence, integrity, and knowledge,” he said on Accra-based JoyNews Thursday, January 09, 2025.
President Mahama on Thursday January 09, nominated Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson as Finance Minister-designate, John Abdulai Jinapor as Energy Minister-designate, and Dominic Akuritinga Ayine as Attorney-General and Minister of Justice-designate.
All the nominees once served as deputies in the same portfolios in the previous NDC administration.
Mr Appiah-Kubi described the nominees as highly qualified individuals, adding that he has no doubt they are the right choices for their respective ministries.
