The newly appointed Acting CEO of the Ghana National Gas Company, Ms. Judith Adjobah Blay, has embarked on a three-day familiarization tour of the Western Region.

Her visit, which began with a courtesy call on the Western Regional House of Chiefs and the Western Regional Minister, marks her first official engagement since assuming office.

Accompanied by Acting Deputy CEO Ing. Dr. Robert Lartey and other management members, Ms. Blay reaffirmed her commitment to fostering strong partnerships between Ghana Gas and key regional stakeholders.

The Western Regional House of Chiefs lauded President John Dramani Mahama for appointing a native of the region to lead Ghana Gas, emphasizing that Ms. Blay’s extensive experience in the oil and gas sector makes her a fitting choice.

“We are pleased to see one of our own entrusted with such a critical national institution. We believe her leadership will strengthen the relationship between Ghana Gas and the people of the Western Region,” said Nana Kobina Nketsia V, President of the Western Regional House of Chiefs.

In response, Ms. Blay expressed gratitude for the warm reception and assured the chiefs of regular engagement.

“I recognize the importance of working closely with traditional leaders to ensure that Ghana Gas contributes meaningfully to the development of the region. I will meet with the House of Chiefs twice a year to discuss progress and address concerns,” she stated.

Ms. Blay also met with the Western Regional Minister, where discussions focused on Ghana Gas’ role in supporting regional development initiatives. She assured the Minister of the company’s commitment to sustainable projects that will benefit communities in the region.

“Ghana Gas remains dedicated to being a key partner in the Western Region’s growth. We will continue to invest in infrastructure, community support programs, and energy security to drive economic transformation,” she noted.

The Western Regional Minister, Joseph Nelson welcomed her appointment and expressed optimism about the strengthened relationship between the company and the region.

“Ms. Blay’s leadership comes at a crucial time when collaboration between the government and industry is essential for regional development. We look forward to working closely with her to achieve shared goals,” the Minister stated.

With over 20 years of experience in Ghana’s energy sector, Ms. Blay brings expertise in strategic leadership, policy development, and sustainable business practices. Her appointment signals a new phase for Ghana Gas as it expands infrastructure to meet the country’s growing energy demands.

Her tour of the Western Region will also include visits to key Ghana Gas installations, interactions with staff, and engagements with local communities to gain insights into the company’s operations and challenges.

As she begins her tenure, stakeholders are optimistic that Ms. Blay’s leadership will strengthen Ghana Gas’ impact and deepen its relationship with the Western Region.
