Ghana National Gas Limited Company (Ghana Gas) has strongly refuted recent publications alleging that its current Management acquired a prime property in Accra’s upscale Airport West neighborhood at an inflated price.
The company said the transaction was initiated and completed under the previous administration.
The company’s management and Governing Board issued a firm rebuttal on July 7, addressing what they described as “false and misleading publications” regarding the property located at No. 225 Osibisa Close, Airport West.
In a statement, Ghana Gas emphasized that the current leadership played absolutely no role in the acquisition of the property in question. According to the company, the deal was executed under the previous administration and has since been flagged in the 2024 Auditor-General’s Report.
“The current Management had no role whatsoever in the acquisition of the said property,” the company stated unequivocally, seeking to draw a clear line between the present leadership and the controversial transaction.
The company confirmed that the matter is currently under investigation by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) and other relevant state investigative agencies.
Ghana Gas pledged its full cooperation with these investigations, expressing confidence that the ongoing probes would establish that the current management had no involvement in the acquisition.
“Ghana Gas remains fully committed to cooperating with these investigations and is confident that the facts will establish that the current Management had no involvement in the acquisition of the property,” the statement read.
The company urged media outlets and the general public to disregard what it termed false publications and to verify facts before circulating or publishing such claims.
“We therefore urge the media and the general public to disregard these false and misleading publications and to verify facts before circulating or publishing such claims,” the statement emphasized.
Despite the controversy surrounding the property acquisition, Ghana Gas reaffirmed its commitment to the highest standards of transparency, accountability, good corporate governance, and prudent management of public resources.
