A police post located near the Asempaneye Forest in the Western North Region has been set ablaze by unknown persons.
According to the Assembly Member for the Asempaneye Electoral Area, Shadrack Oppong Mintah, he received a call from people passing through the area who informed him that the police post was on fire.
He said that upon arriving at the scene, he confirmed that the building had been burnt. He added that parts of the structure appeared to have been damaged intentionally, leading him to suspect that the fire may have been deliberately started.

Mr. Oppong Mintah stated that some residents believe the incident may be linked to the recent shooting at Sefwi Sayerano, where two people lost their lives during a confrontation bewteen the police and some residents.
He said some youth may have sought revenge against the police following the incident. However, there is currently no official evidence confirming this claim.
He further said that some people were reportedly seen around the police post before the fire broke out. Two police motorbikes stationed at the post were also destroyed in the blaze.
He noted that investigations are yet to begin to determine the cause of the fire and identify those responsible for the incident.
