The Communications Director of Asante Kotoko has urged supporters of the club to ignore reports that they are searching for a coach.

Lawyer Samuel Sarfo Duku says all the names being bandied about as possible coaches for the club should be treated with the contempt they deserve.

Speaking on Akoma FM on Wednesday, Lawyer Sarfo Duku said since the appointments of Abdul-Karim Zito and Prince Owusu as the Technical Director to serve as interim coach and Assistant Coach respectively, there has been no discussion whatsoever for a new coach.

“We are waiting for the season to end first,” he insisted. “For now we have put every discussion on hold.

“We first wanted a good technical direction for the club to churn out good results before looking for a coach.”

The club is hunting for double this season after making it to the MTN FA Cup final and in contention for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League.

The club spokesperson said the names are not official but from rumour-mongers.

“So there has not been any meeting at which we have considered a new coach since appointment the two.”

Asante Kotoko will be in action on Sunday with interim coach Karim Zito facing his former side Dreams FC.
