The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, today met with the Kusasi Traditional Council, bringing optimism that the protracted chieftaincy conflict in Bawku may soon end.
Lawyer Maxwell Agbambilla, the lawyer for the Kusasi Traditional Council, was hopeful that peace is on the horizon, citing Asantehene’s wisdom and leadership.
During the meeting, six sub-chiefs confirmed their allegiance to the Kusasi Traditional Council, a significant development in the quest for peace.
Asantehene’s intervention is seen as a crucial step towards resolving the dispute.
The people of Bawku and its environs are eagerly awaiting a peaceful resolution, and the Asantehene’s efforts have brought renewed hope.
He observed, “We just want to live in peace and harmony, without fear of violence or intimidation.”
He urged the youth of Kusasi to remain calm, assuring them that the Asantehene will ensure peace prevails.
