Suspended Chief Justice, Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo, has filed another suit at the High Court demanding that Shining Stars, an organisation behind one of the petitions seeking her potential removal from office, does not exist in law.
According to the suspended Chief Justice, the said organisation is a non-existent entity and can therefore not present a petition to seek her removal from office.
The Chief Justice, following three separate petitions for her removal, was suspended by President John Dramani Mahama after a prima facie case had been established in consultation with the Council of State based on Article 146 of the 1992 Constitution.
Madam Torkornoo has since filed applications to halt the processes and also prevent some members on the Committee probing her petitions to be expunged, but have all proved futile.
Prior to the latest suit, she filed another at the ECOWAS court demanding a US$10 million compensation from the state for what she describes as damaging of her reputation.
