Launching his solo career in 1990 with the hit “Theresa,” Lumba quickly rose to fame with chart-topping singles like “Aben Wo Ha,” “Ohia Asem,” and “Poison.” Over four decades, he released dozens of albums, became a cultural icon, and inspired generations with songs about love, struggle, faith, and identity.
Known for his unmatched vocal style and lyrical honesty, Lumba also embraced gospel and contemporary highlife in his later years, with acclaimed songs like “Nya Abotare Na Twen Awurade” (2023). Collaborations with artists like Ofori Amponsah and his daring lyrics earned him both controversy and praise.
