The family of late highlife icon Daddy Lumba on Sunday, July 26, 2026, unveiled his tomb at his private residence at East Legon in Accra.

Coming one year after his passing, it was a customary remembrance event.

It formed part of activities commemorating the musician one year after his death, and it saw family members pour libation in his honour.

Daddy Lumba died on July 26, 2025, at the age of 60.

Also present at the ceremony was his second wife, Odo Broni, who was officially ushered out of widowhood after observing the traditional one-year mourning period.

The customary rite signifies the end of her status as a widow under tradition.

As part of the commemorative activities, the family also announced the appointment of Daddy Lumba’s cousin, Ebenezer Fosuh, as the immediate stand-in for the late musician.

The ceremony provided an opportunity for family members and loved ones to honour the memory of one of Ghana’s most influential highlife musicians, whose music and legacy continue to resonate with audiences across generations.
