There’s been shock and condemnation from members of The Forum, following reports that some politicians were seen celebrating amidst a recent national tragedy.

At a solemn wreath-laying ceremony on August 11 at the forecourt of the Jubilee House, the Chairman of the Forum which includes representatives from eight major labour unions voiced his concerns.

The were at the Jubilee House to pay tribute to the memory of the victims of the Helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofuom on August 6.

Isaac Bampoe-Addo criticized what he described as “insensitive behavior” from certain political figures during a time of mourning.

“This is an incident we should all soberly reflect. We have listened, we have heard from social media platforms, it is rather unfortunate when you hear statements from people as if they are jubilating, they are happy. Our society is sick,” he lamented.

According to him, “this is the time we need to analyse the sort of democracy that we are practising. We are not moving forward, our democracy is producing crab politicians, and we need to take a second look at our democracy the way we are going we are going to crash.”

He further called for the establishment of a union government as a way to address the country’s growing challenges and foster unity across political lines.

“If one party is in power the other party that’s why I say they are crabs one party whether what they are saying is good and everybody knows is good, but they will pull him down. It must come to an end,” he said.
