The Board and Management of Media General have expressed condolences to Asanteman on the passing of its Queen Mother, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
The Asantehemaa died on Thursday, August 7, 2025.
In a tribute dated August 12, the Board and Management of Media General wrote, “…we extend our deepest condolences to the Asanteman Council, the royal family, and the people of Ashanti on the passing of Her Royal Majesty Nana Konadu Yiadom III, the revered Asantehemaa.”
“Her Majesty’s peaceful transition on August 7, 2025, at the age of 98, marks the end of an era of compassionate leadership and dedication to the traditions and welfare of Asanteman,” a part of the tribute reads.
“We remember Her Majesty’s remarkable reign, marked by her commitment to justice, fairness, and the well-being of her people. Her efforts to promote breastfeeding and healthcare initiatives, particularly her donations to the Mother-Baby Unit and Pediatric Emergency Care Unit at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, will forever be etched in our minds,” it added.
“May her legacy continue to inspire us, and may the family and loved ones find strength during this difficult time. We join the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and the entire Ashanti Kingdom in mourning the loss of this remarkable queen.
May she rest in perfect peace,” the tribute concluded.
