The grand finale of the Onua-GC Brand Community League returns after it was postponed in honour of the eight gallant Ghanaian citizens including two cabinet ministers who lost their lives in the helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 10.

After extensive deliberations, organisers have scheduled Sunday, August 31 as the new date for the crowning of the tournament, aimed at unearthing footballing talents in communities.

It began on Saturday, July 12 in Tema Community 2, where eight teams battled for the two tickets. Ashaiman Revelations and Tema Comm. 2 got the nod from Zone 1 after six gruelling encounters.

The train, exactly a week later, made a stopover at the Adjiringanor Wembley for the Zone 2 Gala. At the end of the day, hosts Adjiringanor and Adenta punched the two tickets available with the likes of Lakeside-Abenwoha, Aburi-Amanfo and Hebron Kuntunse going home.

From there, the Gala went to Teshie McDan for Zone 3, which produced Korle Gonno and La-Nkwantanang as the finalists.

The last zone, Zone 4, held at the Tuba AstroTurf on Saturday, August 2, saw Awoshie and Okaikwei North emerge qualifiers for the grand finale.

But after a couple of weeks, the champion of champions will be held at the Gbawe AstroTurf on the last day of August.

It was originally scheduled for Sunday, August 19 at the La McDan AstroTurf.

Already, the draw for the fixtures has been conducted with eight teams expected to battle for the GH¢10,000 cash prize.
