The third suspect linked to the alleged murder of Immigration Officer Stephen King Amoah has reportedly died after a short illness.

Kwasi Amoako, brother of the slain officer, disclosed the death, saying he was informed by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officer handling the case.

He confirmed to Citi News that the death of the suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed yet, occurred a few days after the accused were presented in court over the matter.

Amoako, reacting to the development, said he believes the death of the suspect is vengeance from his late brother. He described the death as a divine intervention in the family’s quest for closure.

“Yesterday, we went to court, and I can confirm that the third suspect has passed on. I was told by the Police CID officer in charge of the case. We thank God that our brother has started seeking justice for himself,” he said.

The case began on July 3, 2025, when the officer, Amoah, was reported missing after he left his home to meet a friend at Ashongman Estate.

His disappearance sparked a frantic search, which ended tragically on July 9 with the discovery of his charred body at Abuom Junction, near Kwabenya.

The gruesome nature of the crime prompted a swift and intensive police manhunt, leading to the arrest of three suspects.

While police have yet to issue a formal statement on the suspect’s death, the family’s confirmation adds a layer of complexity to the ongoing judicial process.

The Amoah family has consistently demanded swift and thorough investigations, hoping to bring closure to a case that has devastated them and put a spotlight on the safety of public servants.

The reported death raises questions about how the legal proceedings will now proceed, but the family’s resolve for justice remains unshaken.
