Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has returned to the Akwatia constituency to campaign for the NPP parliamentary candidate ahead of Tuesday’s by-election in the constituency.
Dr. Bawumia was in the constituency on Friday, August 29, 2025, for the customary one week observation of the late NPP MP, Ernest Kumi, and two days after on Sunday, he returned, this time to embark on grounds work to assist the campaign of the NPP’s candidate.
Dr. Bawumia started with church visitations early in the morning, where he spoke warmly of the NPP candidate to congregants.
As part of his campaign tour of the Constituency, Dr. Bawumia also called on the Kusiman Hene, Nana Ntiamoah Kusi Boadu, together with the candidate.
Dr. Bawumia also engaged constituents in a number of communities to rally support for candidate Asumadu.
The former Vice President urged the constituents to vote massively for Asumadu to enable him continue with the good works and legacy of their beloved late MP, Ernest Kumi.
