The Kokotro Methodist Primary School in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti Region has received a significant facelift following renovation works initiated by Presidential Aide, Amanda Okyere.

The refurbished facility was officially commissioned by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, who handed it over to pupils and teachers at a ceremony on Friday, September 5.

Previously, the school was in a deplor able state, with dilapidated furniture, cracked walls, and a roof damaged in several areas, making teaching and learning unconducive.

The poor state of the school came to national attention through a viral social media post, which caught the attention of Amanda Okyere.

She pledged to intervene and collaborated with the Regional Minister to ensure the school was renovated.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including the Ashanti Regional Minister, the NPP Constituency Chairman, the Member of Parliament, NDC Constituency Executives, and the Regional Vice Chairman. Their joint presence underscored the importance of unity in service, regardless of political affiliation.

Excited pupils and teachers expressed their joy at the transformation of their learning environment, with many students beaming with smiles as they returned to improved classrooms.

In a symbolic gesture, the Ashanti Regional Minister handed over the keys to the newly renovated structure to the head of the school, marking a new chapter for the institution and reaffirming government’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure in the Region.
