Leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Akpaloo, has been released from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) after meeting his bail conditions.
Akpaloo was released on Thursday, September 11, 2025 after he was arrested on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Speaking to the media shortly after his release, he said: “There’s nothing wrong. They said they are doing investigations but as you know it’s this same politics because all the things I said is what they are basing on to do this. There’s really nothing wrong.”
He was granted bail of GHC10 million bond with two sureties to be justified.
According to Deputy Attorney-General Srem Sai, Kofi Akpaloo was under investigations for multiple financial crimes, including fraud, causing financial loss to the state, dissipation of public funds, and money laundering.
Although he was granted bail, Akpaloo was kept in custody until he met his bail conditions.
