The Inspector General of Police, COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, today, September 16,2025, led a contingent of police officers to the Manhyia Palace to pay their last respects to the late Asantehemaa.

His presence shows the high esteem in which the late Asantehemaa was held across all sectors of the country and beyond.

The police team was not alone, as other heads of state security agencies also stormed the Palace.

Representatives from Police, Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Fire Service, Immigration, Customs , Judiciary, Ghana Bar Association and the general public were also there to pay their respects to the late Asantehemaa on day 2 of the burial service has been designated to honor them.

Asantteman is in deep mourning as they bid farewell to their beloved Queenmother.

The event is expected to draw large crowds as people from all walks of life come to pay their final respects.

Thousands of mourners, traditional leaders, and dignitaries from across Ghana and abroad gathered to pay their respects.

The first images from the ceremony capture key moments of the rites, including the arrival of the late queen mother’s body at the palace, ceremonial dances, and prayers led by spiritual leaders. Fetish priestesses were also seen performing rituals, highlighting the deep cultural and spiritual traditions of the Ashanti Kingdom.

The funeral ceremonies will continue till Thursday, September 18,2025 , featuring several traditional rituals and performances that honor the life and legacy of Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

The events underscore the rich heritage of the Asante people and the high esteem in which the late Asantehemaa was held.
