The Ashanti Regional Manager of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC), Mr. Edward Kingston Boduah, has praised the Electricity Company of Ghana’s (ECG) Ashanti Sub-Transmission Region for delivering improved supply stability and strengthening customer communication in the region.
Mr. Boduah gave the commendation during a regulatory visit in Kumasi, where the PURC regional team interacted with ECG management on regulatory matters and preparations towards the upcoming public hearing scheduled for October 14, 2025, at the Prempeh Assembly Hall.
“Your commitment to system improvements and proactive maintenance is highly commendable. We are equally impressed with your stakeholder communication efforts, particularly the timely updates shared on the Utility Stakeholders Platform,” Mr. Boduah stated.

He further commended the Ashanti Sub-Transmission Public Relations Unit for championing reliability-focused communication and enhancing public education on ECG’s operations.
Responding to the praises , the General Manager of Ashanti Sub-Transmission, Ing. Peter Fletcher, expressed appreciation on behalf of staff and assured PURC of the region’s commitment to sustaining improvements.

“This recognition is for the many people on the ground whose hard work keeps the system running. We are committed to active participation in the upcoming public hearing and will ensure a smooth event with backup systems and standby support,” Ing. Fletcher said.
The commendation comes at a time when ECG Ashanti has intensified efforts to improve supply reliability, strengthen operational safety, and deepen stakeholder engagement in the region.
