Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Henry Asante Twum says it is mandatory per the regulations of the FIFA World Cup qualifying for the opposing team to train at the same time exactly 24 hours to kick-off of the game.

However, the GFA is yet to hear from Comoros officials ahead of the last 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying game at the Accra Sports Stadium, he indicated.

Speaking on Agoro Fie on Onua TV on Thursday, October 9, the GFA spokesperson noted that the Black Stars are scheduled to hold a recovery training session in Accra on Thursday.

“[Thursday’s] training is open but Friday’s is behind closed doors and then Saturday we will train at 5:30pm,” he said.

“We are hoping to hear from the Comorans but per the regulations we have to give them the opportunity to train on the pitch at the time of the game, which is 7:00pm.”

He stressed that the Black Stars are determined to protect the unbeaten home run and finish stronger than ever in Group I.

“We want to win on Sunday for sure,” he said when asked about the game gainst a side Ghana are yet to pick at least a point from in all competitions.

“We want our home record to be intact. We’ve played, I think, four matches at home so far. We beat Madagascar, Central African Republic, Mali and Chad, now it is Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium.

“We want to finish as stronger as we can and we want to also protect the home invincibility that we hold in the world cup qualifiers.”
