Prosecutors in the murder trial of Immigration officer Steffen King Amoah have told the Adabraka District court that they are awaiting results of a forensic report to forward to the Attorney-General for advice.

The case, which has been ongoing for the past two months, has already ignited anger from family members of the victim who are lamenting about its slow pace.

Bright Aweh and Thomas Zigah are facing multiple charges of murder and conspiracy to commit crime for their alleged roles in the killing of Steffen King Amoah, a 38-year-old immigration officer.

According to the prosecution’s brief facts of the case, Steffen was reported missing on July 3, 2025, after leaving home to meet a friend at Ashongman Estate.

His charred body was later discovered on July 9 at Abuom Junction, near Kwabenya, sparking a manhunt and an intensive police investigation.

The accused persons’ pleas are yet to be taken at the Adabraka District Court.

In court on Thursday, October 9, the prosecution indicated that they had completed the investigations but needed more time as they await the forensic report and the comprehensive cause of death of the slain immigration officer.

They added that the case docket will be forwarded to the Attorney-General for advice upon receipt of the report.

The lawyers for the second accused did not oppose except to add that the prosecution should be compelled to stick to the timelines.

Presiding judge Abena Asor Owusu Omenyo adjourned the case to October 22 for continuation.

Family members of the immigration officer decried the continuous adjournments of the case

“If they can’t adjudicate the matter at the district court, they should just escalate it to the higher courts. The continuous adjournments make it more disheartening for us. These everyday postponements are worrying,” the elder sister of the victim lamented to journalists after proceedings on Thursday.
