The Omanhene of the Sunyani Traditional Area, Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, was the special guest of honour at the 63rd Annual Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS).

The conference, held in Sunyani under the theme “Ensuring Comprehensive, Equitable, and Sustainable Secondary Education in Ghana,” was attended by traditional leaders, including sub-chiefs and queen mothers from the Sunyani Traditional Council.

During the event, the Haruna Iddrisu, Minister of Education, who was representing His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, delivered a significant announcement.

The Minister revealed that, following a specific request made by the Sunyanimanhene during a recent visit to his palace, he had discussed the matter with President Mahama. Consequently, the government has decided to complete the long-awaited Bono Regional Library and construct six new libraries across the Bono Region.

Mr Iddrisu credited the traditional leader as the inspiration for this development, stating, “He is the reason for these projects.” He personally invited and pleaded with the Sunyanimanhene to join the sod-cutting ceremonies for the projects when the time arrives.
