Fourteen construction workers have been rescued and are in critical condition after a three-storey building under construction collapsed near the Roman Ridge Engineering Centre in Accra on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
The incident happened at a construction site reportedly managed by Fabrico Builders.
No fatalities were recorded in the Tuesday afternoon incident.
The scene of the incident is located between the Ghana Institute of Engineering at Roman Ridge and a 10-story high-rise apartment.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), ADO II Ankrah led a rescue team from National Headquarters that responded immediately to a distress call about the incident at 12:18 p.m.
The group arrived at the location at 12:29 p.m.

The 14 people, believed to be male construction workers, were all successfully rescued and taken to Ridge Hospital and the 37 Military Hospital for medical care.
The GNFS stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the collapse.
The site manager has been directed to suspend all construction activities until further notice and to ensure full adherence to safety standards.
The Fire Service assured that further updates will be provided as investigations progress.
