It was a chaotic scene at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina on Saturday as Katsina United hosted Barau FC in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NFL).

After the hosts took the lead in the first half, the Maliya Boys fought hard to find the leveller with Number 10-shirted Nana Kwame Abraham in the thick of affairs.

The much-anticipated equaliser came in the 69th minute when Orji Kalu found the back of the net.

Irate Katsina United fans, disappointed with the equaliser, immediately stormed the pitch and in the ensuing confusion slit the throat of Nana Abraham.

The attacking midfielder was immediately replaced by Hillary Ekawu and the medics frantically attended to him and official Jabir Hassan, who also suffered an injury during the fans’ besiege of the pitch.

They are both alive and doing well, according to Onua Sports sources.

The Matchday 12 game continued and it ended 1-1.
