The Chief of Staff, Honorable Julius Debrah, has commended Nutrifoods Ghana Limited for its continued investment in Ghana’s manufacturing sector and its contribution to job creation and food safety.
He made the remarks during a working visit to the company’s production facilities in Tema, where he commissioned a newly upgraded can-making line valued at more than US$500,000.
Nutrifoods Ghana Limited, a joint venture between Olam International and Sanyo Foods is one of Ghana’s leading food manufacturing companies, producing popular household brands such as NutriSnax, Royal King Cracker, Perk, and Tasty Tom.

The Chief of Staff’s visit forms part of government’s engagement with key players in the private sector to drive its industrialization and 24-hour economy agenda.
Speaking during the tour, Hon. Debrah praised the company’s commitment to maintaining global standards in food safety and production efficiency.
“Your commitment to consumer safety and implementing systems that ensure your products meet regulatory requirements is deeply commendable,” he said. “It is our hope that this upgraded can-making line will enhance productivity while sustaining the livelihoods of employees here at Nutrifoods Ghana Limited.”
He also urged the management of Nutrifoods to continue supporting Ghana’s broader economic development efforts through innovation and local investment.
The newly commissioned can-making line, located at the company’s culinary plant in the Tema Industrial Area, is designed to improve product quality, strengthen safety controls, and expand production capacity to sustain a 24-hour production schedule.
According to the Managing Director and Business Head of Nutrifoods Ghana, Mr. Jay Anjaria, the investment underscores the company’s long-term commitment to manufacturing excellence and its alignment with the government’s Invest in Ghana initiative.
“At Nutrifoods, we adopt world-class standards for efficient and responsible production,” Mr. Anjaria said. “Our products are proudly Ghanaian nurtured from ideation to execution, born in Ghana, made for Africa.”
He added that Nutrifoods remains focused on job creation and on developing the intellectual and technical capacity required to advance Ghana’s industrial sector.
Nutrifoods Ghana Limited operates two major processing facilities in Tema, a biscuit manufacturing plant and a culinary production facility, serving both domestic and export markets. The company is also the first biscuit manufacturer in West Africa to receive the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certification through the FSSC 22000 standard.
The Chief of Staff was accompanied by the Minister of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, and other senior government officials during the tour.
