The Ghana National Fire Service has reported that two of its officers got injured in a quest to douse fire that broke out in a 2-storey building at Adjiringano in Accra.

The GNFS said the officers have since been treated and discharged.

“The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded to a fierce fire that gutted a two-storey, eight-room building at Adjiringano near Ability Square,”a statement dated November 15 indicated.

The GNFS explained that, “The fire call was received at 2132 hours on Friday, November 14, 2025, and the first pump from the Legon Fire Station arrived at 2203 hours. Reinforcement from the Madina, National Headquarters and Adenta Fire Stations, together with a private water tanker, ensured a sufficient water supply to fully contain the blaze. The fire was brought under control at 0016 hours and fully doused at 0108 hours.”

It explained further that, “Seven (7) of the eight (8) rooms and their contents on the top floor were burnt, with firefighters successfully salvaging one (1) room. The ground floor rooms and adjoining buildings were salvaged from the fire ruins.

Two (2) firefighters sustained injuries (one from a stab wound to the left arm and another from a falling block that struck his left shoulder). Both were treated and discharged from Unity Clinic in Madina. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.”
