World football-governing body Fifa has come out with the pots for the 2026 World Cup draw, scheduled for the John F. Kennedy Center of the Performing Arts in Washington DC on Friday, December 5.

Per the pots, Ghana will be in Pot 4 as the least-ranked African qualifier, just behind Cape Verde, also in the same pot.

DR Congo, who will fight for one of the final six places left, will also be in Pot 4 should they qualify ahead of New Caledonia and Jamaica in the Intercontinental Play-off in March, 2026.

Also in the pot for the least-ranked sides to play at the global showpiece next year are Jordan, Curaçao, Haiti and New Zealand.

Africa’s highest-ranked side, Morocco, find themselves in Pot 2 with second-placed Senegal in the same pot.

Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Ivory Coast and South Africa find themselves in Pot 3.

According to the regulations surrounding the draw,  no group – from A to L – will have more than one team from the same confederation except for UEFA, which will not have more than two teams in a group.

Pot 4: Jordan, Cape Verde, Ghana, Curaçao, Haiti, New Zealand, European Play-Off A, B, C and D, FIFA Play-Off Tournament 1 and 2
