Former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has been reported by the Global InfoAnalytics as having maintained a national lead in its latest survey on the NPP’s upcoming presidential primary.
According to the poll, Dr. Bawumia leads his other competitors in 14 out of 16 regions, and was also ahead nationally with 42%, while Kennedy Agyapong was at second with 18% and as much as 34% of respondents being either undecided or unwilling to disclose their preference.
Nonetheless, one other key finding the Global InfoAnalytics survey reported was how Dr. Bawumia was totally favoured among the NPP’s core supporters, otherwise known as die-hards.
Using what it called the committed voters’ model, Global InfoAnalytics reported that 63%, of committed NPP voters favoured Dr. Bawumia, while 29% of such voters were for Kennedy Agyapong.
Dr. Bryan Acheampong has 7% while Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwun had 1%, with Kwabena Agyei Agyapong having 0.
Committed Voters, as Global InfoAnalytics explained, “are delegates who have mentioned a candidate by name and committed to vote for that candidate.”
Reporting on the model, Global InfoAnalytics noted that it excluded the “undecided and those who don’t openly disclose their vote.”
Being extremely popular among committed voters comes as a huge boost to Dr. Bawumia, as committed voters model, in political surveys, represents hard-core supporters who will not change their mind and would even go a step further to influence votes for their preferred candidate.
