Asante Kotoko Head Coach Abdul-Karim Zito has apologised to fans of the club after the 0-1 loss to debutants Hohoe United on Sunday.

A first-half freekick by William Oduro ensured that Hohoe United scooped all the three points at the Hohoe Sports Stadium.

It was the first meeting of the two sides in the top-flight league.

The Volta Region side came into the game after a vital 2-1 away win over Bechem United last Sunday.

And coach Tijani Abdul Rahim Bashiru ensured that he continued where he left off.

The win sends Hohoe United to 9th on the log as they prepare to return to the Bono Region to face Berekum Chelsea.

After the loss, the second for the club, Asante Kotoko coach Zito apologised to the teeming supporters of the club.

“We didn’t play well in the first half, and I’m not happy about that,” he said in his post-match interview.

“That is why I want to apologise to the fans.

“We are sorry and we promise to make the necessary amends.”

The Porcupine Warriors will host Dreams FC in their next game.
