The Accra High Court that injuncted the funeral rites for the late Daddy Lumba has reversed the decision.
The funeral has thus been given the greenlight to proceed on December 13, since the applicants failed to comply with the order to pay an amount of GHC2m by 2:00pm on December 12.
The Accra High Court therefore lifted the injunction on the funeral arrangements, paving the way for the ceremony to go ahead tomorrow, Saturday, December 13, 2025.
In a ruling delivered earlier today, the court said affidavits before it suggested the immediate family was sidelined in the funeral planning and stressed that the merits of the case must be properly considered.
Lawyers for both parties were recalled to court and the judge ordered the applicants to appear before 2:00pm today and defray costs incurred in the funeral preparation process by paying GH¢2 million into court.
The applicants failed to meet the deadline, and their plea was struck out.
This removed the legal hurdle and allowing the funeral activities to continue as scheduled.
Currently, preparations are underway at the Heroes Park of the Kumasi Sports Stadium. Earlier report indicated that preparations were halted when the news of the adjournment broke out.
