Pollster Mussa Dankwah has said that the rerun of the Kpandai parliamentary election is going to be fiercely contested by the two leading political parties.
He says they expect the polls to be very close.
“We expect the race to be very fierce; early indication shows that we are not going to be surprised as to how close this will be. It is going to be very close,” Mussa Dankwah said on the Key Points on TV3 Saturday, December 13.
“The numbers are very tight,” he added.
The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana announced a rerun of the Kpandai Constituency Parliamentary Election, scheduled for Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
This decision followed a directive from the Tamale High Court, which on Monday, 24th November 2025, ordered a rerun of the election to be conducted within thirty (30) days.
The Commission’s action was further triggered by the receipt of a formal notification from the Clerk to Parliament on Tuesday, 9th December 2025, declaring the constituency’s parliamentary seat vacant.
In a press release, the EC stated that the rerun will be contested exclusively by the three candidates who participated in the original 2024 Parliamentary Election for the Kpandai Constituency.
