In a significant move to bolster regional security, the Interior Minister, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has officially unveiled the National Signals Bureau command in Sunyani.

This initiative aims to enhance security operations across the Bono Region, aligning with Ghana’s national security framework.

‎The newly opened Bono Regional Command will serve as the primary hub for intelligence and security coordination in the region. The facility is equipped with advanced technology and integrated into both regional and national surveillance networks to support real-time monitoring and rapid response.

‎During the unveiling, Minister Mohammed-Mubarak issued a stern warning to those engaging in malicious activities, urging them to desist from their ways, or they will be hunted down.

‎Delivering his welcome address, the Bono Regional Minister Joseph Addae Akwaboa, commended the leadership and staff of the National Signals Bureau for their dedication, professionalism and quiet but critical service to our nation.



‎He asserted that the office would significantly enhance surveillance, intelligence gathering, analysis and early warning capacities thereby supporting preventive security measures rather than reactive ones.

‎Dr. George Atta Boateng, the Director General of the National Signals Bureau, emphasized the importance of professionalism among the officers assigned to the new command.

‎He emphasized that as security threats become more sophisticated, ranging from cyberattacks to cross-border crime, the government is prioritising technology-driven intelligence systems to stay ahead of emerging risks.

‎National Security Coordinator, COP Abdul-Osman Razak, underscored the necessity of collaboration among all security agencies, stating that security is indeed a shared responsibility.

‎He said as these efforts unfold, the commitment of both citizens and security personnel will be crucial in ensuring a peaceful environment.
