A pipe burst on the main distribution line around the Police Depot in Patasi, Kumasi, Ashanti Region, has disrupted water supply to several areas, including Santasi, Kokoben, Atonsu, and Gyinyaase.
The disruption has persisted since Friday December 26, 2025.
The Ghana Water Limited (GWL) said its distribution team is working around the clock to repair the damage and restore normal water flow this morning, December 27, 2025.
The Ashanti Regional Office of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) also indicated that it is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates to stakeholders as more information becomes available.
This incident comes after a recent blast at the Barekese Water Treatment Plant, which also affected water supply in the region.
Ghana Water Company Limited, has “assured customers that efforts are underway to stabilize the system and improve flows to affected communities.
The company is appealing to customers to conserve water and report any leakages or burst to their main call centers.
