The first round of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League ended over the weekend with Medeama SC clinching the top spot following a 1-0 win over Hearts of Oak.
After a marathon of games over the past three months, the League was due for a break to follow the last round of matches over the weekend.
Leading contenders Medeama SC and Aduana FC had home games against Hearts of Oak and Vision FC respectively to end the round.
However, it was the Yellow and Mauves who took advantage of their home support as a Salim Adams strike gave them a win.
It immediately took them to 34 points, two above second-placed Bibiani Goldstars SC.
The champions themselves were 3-2 away winners over struggling Eleven Wonders.
Aduana FC surprisingly went 0-1 down to Vision FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa.
The reaction of the team after the surprise defeat has led to the Ghana Football Association charging the club for breach in regulations.
Asante Kotoko, who were also in contention for the top spot, went 1-2 down to Swedru All Blacks at the Swedru Sports Stadium.
Nations FC and Karela United shared the spoils in a goalless game while Dreams FC beat Basake Holy Stars 2-0.
Bechem United also edged Bereku Chelsea in the Bono derby while FC Samartex were 2-0 winners over Young Apostles.
