Moses Foh-Amoaning, a private legal practitioner, has cautioned President John Dramani Mahama against being swayed by foreign influence and financial incentives, urging him instead to sign the controversial anti-LGBTQI+ bill.
According to Foh-Amoaning, President Mahama invoked God’s name during his election campaign, and the most fitting way to show gratitude is by enacting the bill.
“The best form of thanksgiving is passing the anti-LGBTQI+ bill. Mr. President, support this and let us see it passed. Do not follow foreign influence and their money,” he said on Onua FM’s Yen Nsempa morning show on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
Foh-Amoaning further noted that President Mahama had pledged to sign the bill upon resuming office, but a full year has passed without the promise being fulfilled.
He added that once the bill is assented to, God will bless the nation with unprecedented wealth, so abundant that there would be no room to contain it.
This call reignites the debate around the anti-LGBTQI+ legislation, which has faced both domestic and international scrutiny, as Ghanaians and global actors continue to watch developments closely.
