Ghana remain 72nd in the latest FIFA rankings released on Monday, January 19.
It is the third month in a row that the Black Stars stay 72nd, having played only one match in the period under review. The Black Galaxies represented the senior team in a pre-AFCON friendly against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.
With the Black Stars not participating in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the point tally remain the same from the November rankings.
They also remain 14th on the African continent.
All four semi-finalists of the just-ended 2025 AFCON climbed up the rankings.
Champions Senegal moved up to 12th in the world, their highest since the inception of the rankings, and second in Africa.
Losing finalists Morocco broke into the Top 10 for the first time as they also record their highest ever ranking of 8th to lead the continent as well.
Nigeria moved more than 10 places to 26th in the world and third in Africa.
Algeria (28) and Egypy (31) join them to complete the continent’s Top 5.
Spain continue their dominance as they maintain the top position with world champions Argentina, France, England and Brazil following in that particular order to complete the Top 5.
