Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) have been able to douse the fire that broke out at Madina Zongo Junction in Accra, on January 21.
According to the GNFS, three shops located on the ground floor of a one-storey commercial building were affected.

The GNFS wrote on Facebook that an emergency distress call was received at 4:41 p.m., this prompted the immediate dispatch of a fire crew from the Madina Fire Station.
The crew arrived at the scene within two minutes, at 4:43 p.m. Firefighters from the Legon Fire Station later joined the operation to reinforce containment efforts.
By 5:00 p.m. the inferno had been controlled and as at 5:25 p.m. it had been completely extinguished.
“No injuries or fatalities were recorded, and all occupants in the vicinity were reported safe,” the GNFS stated.
Reports indicate that the contents of one of the shops were entirely burnt. The two others experienced partial damage.
Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing to ascertain the cause of fire.
