Dozens of members of the 4141 Gentlemen Club in Maxima, Kumasi and other institutions have participated in a 14-kilometre health walk with past students of Kumasi Technical University and other public universities.

The event dubbed Akoma FM fitness walk 2026 was aimed at encouraging participants to prioritise their health and well-being while fostering a sense of community, collaboration, and networking.

Participants gathered as early as 6:00 am, with energy levels boosted by a 30-minute warmup.

With an ambulance and police escort on standby for safety, the walk officially began at 7:15 am and ended at 9:30am. Zap Mineral water provided water throughout the route, and on arrival, Participants enjoyed drinks from Burst Fruit Juice and others.

The health walk, which started from the premises of Akoma FM in Asokwa, through some principal streets of Kumasi and Central Business District of Adum ended at the Asokwa astro turf, on Saturday, January 24,2026, saw the enthusiastic participation of hundreds of members from 4141 gentlemen club and three other alumni associations and other institutions.

They included the Kumasi Technical University, Alumni Association, the Kwame University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Alumni Association, and other institutions.

The participants were taken through aerobics.

The spokesperson of the 4141 Gentlemen Club, Lazu Stein, addressing the participants after the walk, emphasised the importance of prioritising health and well-being in the fast-paced world.

He advised members to pay critical attention to their health needs by engaging in physical and outdoor activities.

The General Manager, Akoma FM, Ransford Nana Osei Asare, emphasised the power of mindset, hydration, and social support in staying fit.

“When you wake up tired or stressed, a simple walk can release endorphins and uplift your mood”, he said.

He reiterated the station’s commitment to continue organize such event to promote healthy environment.
