Former Ghana Premier League star Eric Bekoe has been handed a two-week suspension by FC Samartex for insubordination and a breach of the club’s regulations.

Bekoe, who is an Assistant Coach and the Youth Team Coach with the former GPL champions, was temporarily suspended and referred to the club’s disciplinary committee for hearing.

After the summons and interrogation, the club found the former Asante Kotoko player guilty of three out of the four charges levelled against him.

“Subsequently, the DC has imposed a two-week suspension on Mr Bekoe,” a notice issued by the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, Chief Inspector (rtd) Vincent Bebli, on Thursday, February 5 said.

“Additionally, he is to forfeit one month’s salary which will be deducted over two months,” the notice said, adding that he will be made to sign a bond of good behaviour.

“The disciplinary committee entreats every employee of FC Samartex 1996 and all its subsidiaries to, as much as possible, operate within the rules of engagement, and to respect the club’s structures and proceedings.”
