Work has resumed at the La General Hospital project site in the Accra after halting for more than 8 months due to lack of funds.
The project contractor Poly Changda Overseas, the news team gathered, returned to the site on January 31 with a number of the workers following the payment for certificates it raised by government.

The news team visited the site on Wednesday, February 11, and witnessed workers busily going about their duties.

The scaffold pipes on the ground floor are being removed and moved to the first floor as they prepare the floor slaps for the 2nd floor columns.

It’s unclear how much money has been paid to the contractor that enabled them to return to site, but it was alleged that government had released funds out of the pledge of GHC130million it made through the Minister of Health for the project completion.

Some of the residents expressed appreciation for the resumption of work on the site but would want the government to maintain the momentum until the project is completed.
As at the time of the report, there was no authorised official on-site to engage with.
