The Interior Ministry has confirmed that a truck carrying some tomato traders from Ghana was attacked by terrorists in Titao, Burkina Faso, on Saturday, February 14, 2026.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Minister for the Interior, Mr Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, described the information received from Burkina Faso as “disturbing”.

The Minister noted that local reports suggested the attack targeted a military camp in Titao, where the terrorists damaged installations during the assault.

“The Government of Ghana has received disturbing information from Burkina Faso of a truck carrying tomato traders from Ghana which was caught in a terrorist attack in Titao, Burkina Faso on Saturday, February 14, 2026,” the statement said.

The Ministry said the Ghana Embassy in Burkina Faso was liaising with Burkinabe authorities to visit the scene, gather details and assist in identifying any Ghanaians affected.

Titao, in northern Burkina Faso, has faced repeated armed attacks in recent years and has been under siege by Islamist militants since 2019.

The Ministry said more information would be communicated to the public as details become available.
