Interior Minister, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, has cautioned applicants in the ongoing security services recruitment to adhere strictly to protocols for the screening schedule.
Persons who flout their given schedules for the screening centres and go outside their designated areas will be disqualified, according to the Minister.
The Minister says the new guidelines for the recruitment are intended to shorten queues, bring fairness and prevent crowding at screening centres.
He told Accra-based Joy FM on Monday, November 17, 2025, that although the process comes with a lot of pressure on the Ministry, his outfit is determined to implement a smoother recruitment process.
Muntaka said avoiding the long queues will curb the unnecessary physical stress for the applicants.
The Minister, who is also the Member of Parliament for Asawase in the Ashanti region, dismissed the assertion that the process is tainted with protocol admissions.
But explained that what normally happens is that preference is given to certain groups, including long-serving volunteers and sportsmen.
He said the recruitment process has been designed to be fair, transparent, and safe for applicants.
“There is no allocation for protocol. What I mean is that I am not going to allocate anything and say, ‘oh, I’m doing this one for protocol,’” he noted.
He added that individuals who have served as volunteers in various security services, including the police and fire bands, or who have represented the services as sportsmen, will be prioritised. “When the portal is open, we will prioritise you. When you apply…, pass your medicals, and when you are among the selected, obviously, we will try and prioritise you. You may call it protocol, but I will not anticipate exact numbers,” he explained.
