The Agona Swedru District Court has remanded two students for allegedly assaulting a student of Obrachire Senior High Technical School at Agona Swedru in the Central region, during an inter-schools sports festival.
The suspects, Benedict Appiah and Bilal Mamid, both students of Swedru School of Business (SWESBUS), were arraigned on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
Appiah and Mamid face provisional charges of conspiracy to commit assault and assault.
They have been asked to reappear before the court on March 11, 2026 after their request for bail was denied and remanded into police custody.

Meanwhile, preliminary investigations from the police indicate that the third suspect, John Amo, was attempting to protect the victim. He remains under investigations and has not yet been arraigned.
The Central Regional Police Command, has meanwhile, directed authorities of Swedru School of Business to produce all other suspects connected to the incident.
The court was presided over by His Worship Victor Kusi.
