Over one million Ghanaians attained jobs in the first two quarters of 2025, President John Dramani Mahama has disclosed, indicating the numbers signal a recovery of the economy.
Targeted interventions aimed at stimulating job creation across key sectors of the economy, the President noted, is a reflection of the jobs that have been secured by these Ghanaians.
Addressing Parliament on the state of the nation on Friday, February 27, 2026, President Mahama said his administration, since taking over in January 2025, has implemented policies that focused on agriculture, infrastructure, small and medium-sized enterprises, and the digital economy have contributed significantly to the employment gains recorded so far this year.
“Over one million Ghanaians gained employment within the first two quarters of 2025,” President Mahama stated.
“These numbers demonstrate that our policies are beginning to yield tangible benefits for households and young people across the country.”
The President added that despite the progress made so far, his outfit is committed to expanding opportunities further, particularly for the youth, through sustained investment and private sector partnerships.
He added that job creation remains central to his administration’s economic transformation agenda as it works to consolidate growth and improve living standards of the citizens nationwide.
