Successful applicants in the recruitment exercise by the Ghana Armed Forces have begun picking up their appointment letters ahead of enlistment and the commencement of their military training.

In the Ashanti Region, hundreds of recruits turned up at the 4 Infantry Battalion (4BN) in Kumasi, where the exercise is currently underway under tight supervision by military authorities.

3news has been monitoring the process and can report that the atmosphere at the barracks has been orderly, with applicants going through strict verification procedures before receiving their appointment letters.

Speaking to the media, Lt Colonel Emmanuel Wumbeidow said adequate measures have been put in place to ensure transparency and to prevent any irregularities.

“The process has been very smooth. We have put in place systems to ensure that only qualified applicants receive their letters. So far, compliance has been good, and we are satisfied with how the exercise is progressing,” he said.

Applicants are required to present valid identification and relevant documents for verification before they are issued with their appointment letters.

The exercise forms part of the final stage of recruitment into the Ghana Armed Forces, paving the way for successful candidates to begin their military careers.

For many of the applicants, the moment marks the fulfillment of a long-held ambition to serve the nation. Several of them expressed excitement and pride after receiving their letters, describing the opportunity as both an honour and a responsibility.

“I am very happy to have made it this far. It has not been easy, but I am ready for the training ahead and to serve Ghana with dedication,” Kwadwo Owusu Asubonteng stated.

Following the collection of their appointment letters, the recruits are expected to report to designated military training centres across the country, where they will undergo rigorous physical and academic training to prepare them for service.

Military officials say the training will instill discipline, resilience, and professionalism in the recruits as they transition into full-fledged personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces.

The exercise is expected to continue in the coming days, as more successful applicants report to complete the final phase of their enlistment process.
