The chiefs, youth and opinion leaders of Sakogu in the East Mamprusi Municipal of the North East Region have lauded the government for the inclusion of their community in the 24-hour market project.

Describing the initiative as a long-awaited blessing, residents believe that this development will serve as a vital catalyst for economic transformation in the area.

For the residents of Sakogu, this is the first time since the settlement’s inception that the community feels truly integrated into the government’s development agenda.

At a press conference, the Chief of Sakogu noted that the 24-hour market initiative is not only timely but essential for the economic survival of Sakogu and its surrounding environs.

In a direct appeal to the authorities, the Chief stated: “We are calling on the government to provide all the necessary materials and resources needed for the timely completion of this project, as we are eager to see it become a reality for our people.”

Beyond the market infrastructure, the community is also calling on the government to prioritize the rehabilitation of the road from Nalerigu to Nakpanduri. They emphasized that improving this major route is critical to easing transportation stress and ensuring the market functions effectively as a vibrant commercial hub.

According to the community elders, this project promises to bridge the gap between local producers and broader economic opportunities, effectively turning their area into a vibrant commercial hub as the market will provide a platform for consistent trade, fostering growth that has been absent for generations.

The youth leadership, led by Bukhari Edward Mahamma, has urged the citizenry to provide total support for the successful completion of the project, emphasizing that the initiative is a collective victory for the region.

The women of Sakogu, who stand to be primary beneficiaries of this initiative, have pledged their commitment, declaring their readiness to support the project in any form necessary.

Traders, including Hajia Alima and Aisha, expressed that the market will serve as an engine for their financial empowerment, marking a historic shift in their daily economic activities.
