FIFA President Gianni Infantino has expressed sympathies for the family, friends and mates of Dominic Frimpong regarding the player’s unfortunate death on Sunday following the armed robbery attack.
The Berekum Chelsea striker was on-board the team bus that came under an armed robbery attack on the Bibiani-Goaso highway on their return from a Ghana Premier League match.
“I am deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of Berekum Chelsea Football Club’s Dominic Frimpong following a reported attack on the team while returning from a Ghana Premier League fixture,” he noted in a statement issued on Monday, April 13.
“On behalf of the global football community and everyone at FIFA we send our condolences to his family, friends, everyone at Berekum Chelsea FC and all those who knew him.”
