The Peki Fire Station responded to two separate emergency incidents at Ayensu and Asikuma Zongo in the Volta Region on Wednesday, 13th May 2026.
Firefighters attended to a vehicular accident involving a SINO tipper truck along the Peki–Asikuma Road.
Two male victims were successfully rescued after the crew arrived promptly at the scene.
Later in the day, the crew responded to a domestic fire outbreak at Asikuma Zongo, where a three-bedroom thatch-roofed house was engulfed in flames.
Firefighters managed to confine and extinguish the blaze in time, preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings.
The GNFS urged the public to remain vigilant and report emergencies promptly to ensure swift response and protection of lives and property.
