The Deputy Minister for Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi, has announced ongoing efforts to secure improved accommodation for personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces.
At a ceremony to inaugurate the committee for the project, Mr Brogya Genfi disclosed that the Ministry of Defence is ready for the smooth take off of the projects.
In a statement on his Facebook page, on Thursday, May 28,2026, he wrote, “In fulfillment of the NDC Manifesto promise to establish Ghana Armed Forces Home Ownership Scheme, a committee has been inaugurated today by the Ministry of Defence Ghana to produce a Policy document for that purpose.
Mr Genfi revealed that the Committee is chaired by The Principal General Staff Officer (PGSO) of the Ministry, Brigadier General Ben Gah and other members include reps from the Office of the President, Ghana Home Ownership Fund, Ministry of Works and Housing, Ghana Armed Forces, State Housing Corporation, National Development Planning Commission and Veterans Administration, Ghana.
The Committee has been tasked to be practical, consultative and work with a sense of urgency.
